Overview

The Sky-Watcher 72ED Reducer/Flattener is designed to transform your Evostar 72ED refractor into an astrograph, optimized for wide-field astrophotography. With a 0.85x reduction factor, it shortens the focal ratio from f/5.8 to f/4.93 and reduces the focal length from 420mm to 357mm, allowing for shorter exposure times and a wider field of view. Field curvature, which can distort stars at the edges, is corrected, producing sharp, well-defined stars across the image. The reducer/flattener easily attaches to the Evostar focuser, and its M48 male thread ensures compatibility with most camera adapters and T-rings, making it versatile for imaging setups.
