The MMR-88 is a rugged digital AM/FM with 3 charging modes (Hand Crank, USB, or Solar Power). No matter where you are the MMR-88 lets you listen to your favorite music, news and radio programs.

rechargeable battery that can be using 1 of 3 charging methods, including the built in hand Cranky/ Dynamo Power, USB, or let mother nature charge it utilizing Sangeans state of the art Solar Panel. Power wherever and whenever you need it.Emergency Siren
The Emergency Siren will work when either the radio is switched on or off. Simply press and hold Emergency Siren button for 1 second, this will activate the siren until it’s switched off by pressing the Emergency Siren button for 1 second or the Power button.

Quality Price Value Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. While it is a small unit, its build feels quality. The sound from the speaker is mellow and not plasticky at all. The solar charge unit works brilliantly. Easy to set up FM/AM memory even though instructions take a moment to figure out. While not having used it in any emergency as yet, it is a handy unit to have in case of such an emergency. The light has 4 f=different functions: High intensity, low intensity, flashing and, I like this one: SOS flash..
I tried recharging the battery with a solar powered battery I also have and the charge light was on while charging, but, and this is a nice feature, turns off when fully charged. Saves overcharging the lithium battery. There is also an LCD power level display. A 90 minute radio on function which can be over-ridden when turning it on to keep on indefinitely. The FM radio is sensitive enough to pull in signals without using the antenna (for my location, that's not too bad- Western Sydney), but the extendible antenna is there to assist in boosting a weaker signal. I haven't tried the wind up for charging, but feels solid. All in all, an excellent value for money.
