The M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400 f/5.0-6.3 IS is a high-performance zoom lens that offers super telephoto performance in a 200 to 800mm equivalent range in a compact, lightweight form. 

Features

Powerful telemacro shooting
Superb telemacro performance with a closest focusing distance of 1.3 m (entire zoom range) and a maximum image magnification of 0.57x [1] is now possible. Attach optional Teleconverter MC-14/MC-20 lenses to shoot at a maximum image magnification of 0.81x when using MC-14, and 1.15x when using MC-20. This combination enables powerful telemacro shooting at an image magnification equivalent to a macro lens.

Optical design with super telephoto capabilities in a compact form

Extensive hermetic sealing on the entire lens barrel delivers the same high level of dustproof and splashproof performance as the M.Zuiko PRO series. This design keeps out dust and moisture for peace of mind when shooting in any environment.

In-lens image stabilisation
This product is equipped with in-lens image stabilisation, which is useful in the telephoto range, making stable shooting possible with minimal negative effects of hand shake on any camera body.
※ This product is not compatible with the 5-axis sync IS that works with in-body 5-axis image stabilisation.
※ Use of in-lens image stabilisation is recommended for super telephoto shooting.

Super Telephoto Shooting up to 1600mm Equivalent
200 to 800mm equivalent super telephoto shooting is possible with the lens on its own, and up to 1600mm equivalent super telephoto shooting when using the optional 2x Teleconverter MC-20. You can enjoy great telemacro and versatile super telephoto shooting.

Covers a wide range of telephoto shooting equivalent to 200 to 800mm with the lens on its own
This lens supports a wide focal length range equivalent to 200 to 800mm. You can enjoy zooming in close to capture far-away subjects and the flattening effects unique to a super-telephoto lens.

Max. 1600mm equivalent super telephoto shooting with a teleconverter
This lens utilizes the high optical performance of the master lens while extending the focal length, and is compatible with the optional Teleconverter lenses MC-14/MC-20. When paired with the 1.4x Teleconverter MC-14, 280 to 1120mm equivalent super telephoto shooting is possible, and when paired with the 2x Teleconverter MC-20, 400 to 1600mm equivalent super telephoto shooting is possible.

Also supports Focus Stacking
Focus Stacking is also supported, which captures multiple shots at different focal positions, then automatically composites the shot.
Capture a photo with a large depths of field that is in focus from the foreground to background using the super telephoto macro range.

Superb Optical Design with Worry-free Dustproof and Splashproof Performance
This lens delivers stable high image quality across the entire zoom range equivalent to 200 to 800mm. It also features dustproof and splashproof performance for peace of mind.

Excellent depictive performance across the entire zoom range
Four ED lenses are lavishly used to suppress colour bleeding along with 2 Super HR lenses and 2 HR lenses for bright, clear depictive performance to the edges of the image across the entire zoom range. ZERO Coating is also used to reduce ghosts and flares for clear image quality even in poor conditions such as backlit scenes.

Comfortable AF in the super telephoto range
A rear focusing system that utilizes lightweight focusing lenses enable fast, high-precision AF. This lens is equipped with a Focus Limit switch for switching AF operating range, delivering comfortable AF shooting even at super telephoto ranges.
