Overview
The Lensbaby Soft Focus II optic is a versatile addition to Lensbaby's Optic Swap System. It offers an aperture range from f/2.5 to f/22, making it suitable for various creative photography needs. This new and improved version of the original Soft Focus optic is compatible with all Lensbaby's current and legacy Optic Swap lens bodies. It features a 12-blade manually adjustable internal aperture and a versatile magnetic aperture system.
At its brightest aperture settings, the Soft Focus II creates impressionistic images with subtle sharp details. It produces a unique color palette, leaning towards soft pastels at brighter apertures, and delivers a remarkably flat field of focus, allowing for images impossible to achieve with other lenses. When stopped down to f/8 or darker, it provides beautifully detailed, traditionally sharp images with a large central area of focus and out-of-focus edges on full-frame sensors and 35mm film. The internal 12-blade aperture can be easily adjusted to achieve quick variability of the optical effect, ranging from impressionistic and full of glow to contrasty and sharp.
