The Lensbaby Soft Focus II optic reimagines one of the earliest and most coveted lenses in Lensbaby's Optic Swap System. Featuring an adjustable aperture from f/2.5 to f/22, this improved version enhances the creative possibilities of the original Soft Focus optic. It's compatible with all Lensbaby Optic Swap lens bodies, offering a unique magnetic aperture system with a new 12-blade manual internal aperture.
When used wide open, the Soft Focus II achieves an impressionistic look with subtle sharp details underneath. It imbues images with a soft pastel color palette and creates a remarkably even field of focus, yielding unique and unattainable results. Stopped down to f/8 or narrower, it delivers highly detailed, conventionally sharp images with a generous central focus and softly blurred edges, ideal for full-frame sensors and 35mm film. The optic's internal 12-blade aperture, adjusted via the front of the lens, allows for quick transitions between various optical effects, from dreamy and radiant to crisp and contrasty.
