The Lensbaby Soft Focus II optic, a valuable addition to the Optic Swap System, offers an extensive aperture range from f/2.5 to f/22. This improved version of the sought-after original Soft Focus optic is compatible with Lensbaby's current and legacy lens bodies. Featuring a 12-blade manually adjustable internal aperture, it enhances creative possibilities with its distinctive magnetic aperture system.
When used at its brightest apertures, the Soft Focus II creates ethereal, impressionistic images with subtle underlying sharpness. It lends a soft pastel color palette and an exceptionally flat field of focus, enabling unique images unattainable with standard lenses. Stopping down to f/8 or smaller produces finely detailed, traditionally sharp images with a significant central focus area and softly blurred edges. The optic allows rapid adjustments between different optical effects, from dreamy and radiant to sharp and contrasty, thanks to its internal 12-blade aperture, controlled by simply turning the front of the lens.
