Overview

Whatever you shoot, however you shoot it, the EOS R5 will let you be creative in ways you couldn’t before. Capture sensational 45-megapixel photos at up to 20 frames per second, or cinematic 12-bit 8K RAW video using the entire width of the camera’s sensor. Advanced AF is programmed using deep-learning artificial intelligence. At the same time, in-body image stabilisation works in concert with a lens’s own IS to provide up to 8 stops of protection against camera shake.

45 Megapixel Resolution & DIGIC X Processor
At the heart of the EOS R5 is an all-new 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor that delivers previously unheard-of levels of image quality. Detail and clarity are simply stunning, as is colour reproduction, tonal gradation and dynamic range. The new sensor operates with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 51,200 so you can take advantage of the EOS R5’s sensational image quality even in low-light conditions.

A custom-designed DIGIC X image processor takes data from the camera’s sensor and produces image files of exceptional quality. Digital noise is kept to a minimum – not just at high ISO settings but at all sensitivities. Sharpness is improved with an all-new clarity adjustment, and extra dynamic range is available, thanks to an improved Auto Lighting Optimizer (ALO) and Highlight Tone Priority+ technology.

Duan Card Slot
1x CFexpress Card and 1x SD Card. The CFexpress card supports high-speed transfer, allowing the camera to perform continuous shooting of 45-megapixel still images at up to 20 fps and internal recording of 8K RAW movies.

Up to 12 fps with Mechanical Shutter

Delivering incredible performance at speeds of up to 12 fps, the EOS R5 camera can capture the split-second details between a subject's movements. This is ideal for dynamic action photos such as athletes, animals or vehicles in motion.

High-Speed Focusing with Dual Pixel CMOS AF

The EOS R5 camera's highly responsive Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system features an incredible 1,053 Automatic AF zones that can be designated as auto-focus focal points (when Face + Tracking priority AF is selected). This ensures higher-precision Eye Detection AF, or allows for you to focus on the desired AF point. Fast action can be captured and focus can be maintained with speed, accuracy and ease.

EV -6 Low-Light Autofocus

Amazing for nighttime photography or in very low light settings, the EOS R5 camera's brilliant AF can operate in light as dim as a light rating of EV -6 where other AF systems may fail or search. Phenomenal AF is achieved even when using lenses with high F numbers.

8-Stop Image Stabilizer
The EOS R5 is the first EOS camera to feature in-body image stabilization, which provides 5 axis of movement, protecting against camera shake when shooting with lenses that don’t have their own IS. The system is capable of an amazing eight stops with some lenses. However, when a compatible IS-equipped RF lens is fitted to the EOS R5, the two stabilisation systems work together, creating an Intelligent Image stabilization system to eliminate blur from a wider range of vibrations than a conventional IS System.

That’s enough to allow hand-held photography at very long shutter speeds without fear of blur from camera shake. Just imagine being able to intentionally use a slow shutter speed to capture the movement of a flowing waterfall while shooting handheld – just one of the ways the EOS R5 is enabling new ways for photographers to be creative.
