The world’s first digital interchangeable power zoom lens is a compact superstar
The premium lens offers state-of-the-art design to achieve increased functionality and spectacular image quality. The Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm/F4.0-5.6 ASPH./POWER O.I.S. , is our first cutting-edge digital interchangeable lens with electric-powered zoom operation. It hails from the new premium lens brand “X” for Lumix G Micro System that complies with Micro Four Thirds System standard.
The world’s first digital interchangeable power zoom lens*
Offering a versatile zoom range of 45-175mm (90-350mm in 35mm equivalent), this lens allows distant subjects to be captured sharply up close. The zoom lever is particularly useful when shooting video because it allows a steady shot when zooming which is difficult with a manual zoom ring. When using for still images, it allows quick and accurate changes between focal length so that you never miss a shot. On our current range of G series cameras you can actually change the zoom speed between video, while still allowing a slow zoom on video to get a smooth action or a quick zoom when shooting still images

Suppress handshake and eliminate blur with POWER O.I.S.
The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser) integrated into the lens makes it easy to shoot sharp images even in low-lit situations. With the improved sensitivity of the gyro sensor, the new POWER O.I.S. also suppresses large, slow movements more effectively while small, fast movements are compensated for by the conventional MEGA O.I.S.
The ultra-mobile compact design doesn’t sacrifice image quality
Using a Multi-Actuator Floating Inner Focus System to control three lens groups separately, the lens achieves a reduction in both size and weight without compromising picture quality. Boasting outstanding compactness, the lens is approximately 90mm in length and 210g in weight, resulting in ultra-high mobility.
Nano Surface coating technology results in super clear images with reduced ghosts and flare
The lens features superb image rendering for life-like textures and crisp, edge-to-edge contrast. A unique Nano Surface Coating technology minimizes reflections at entire visual light range (380nm-780nm) for a dramatic reduction of ghosts and light flare, resulting in clear images.
For the lenses distortion compensation available, the horizontal axis of MTF is the distance from the center, which is compensated accordingly.
MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabiliser)
Designed to compensate for hands-shake ‘blur’, the MEGA O.I.S’s internal LSI compensates by processing the output of the gyrosensors at approximately 4,000 times a second. What you see in the Live View Finder or LCD image is what you get in the shot (especially effective when using a zoom lens).
Nano Surface Coating Technology
Panasonic have applied an extra-low refractive index coating with nano-sized structure on the surface of the lens. The resulting pictures are clear, with dramatic reduction of ghosts and flare.
These lenses prevent spherical and distortion aberrations, so higher magnification can be achieved with fewer lenses. Resulting in smaller size and weight, these lenses feature the high dimensional accuracy of Panasonic’s cutting-edge production technologies, including concave lenses that measure just 0.3mm at their thinnest part.
