What exactly is a reference standard? It's a bench mark you look up to, the standard you adopt or refer to and even by which you may choose to judge your own performance by. Prior to the creation of Soundstream's REFERENCE series amplifiers, no other company had ever brought this type of concept to the foreground, connections on one side, fully adaptable power supply for either SQ or SPL applications, the use of 1% and 2% tolerant resistors and separate left and right channel level adjustments. Today's advanced technology with smaller devises and MEGA-FET transistors make it possible for a complete and faithful re-introduction of these phenomenal machines.

Soundstream is the absolute FIRST to release an audio amplifier REFERENCE standard that all the others followed and consequently set itself apart from the rest. There are definitely a lot of copy cats out there today trying to steal our thunder. But why would you settle for less or an unperfected copy at that?

Every chip off the old block we call it when we refer to the flawless sound reproduction these amps can make, PLUS we made improvements to introduce some serious enhancements like the 4:1 power supply ratio, precision wound toroidal transformers and inductors, polystyrene capacitors, high speed switching J-FET OP amps and precision tracking potentiometers.
