protection system. If the system, once installed, is ever disconnected
from the battery, a password needs to be entered to unlock the system
and enable operation.

A Point of Interest, or POI, is a specific
location that you may find useful or interesting during your journey.
Points of Interest are places like hotels, restaurants, petrol
stations, tourist venues, parking lots; even cash machines.
Our sat nav systems have a large amount of POI’s stored in memory.
Certain POI’s, such as hotel chains or petrol stations, can be displayed
on the map with their specific company logos or with a 3D icon.
You can search for a POI by name, category or via the Destination
Search according to the city. This is helpful when trying to locate a
hotel, store or even a golf course without an immediate address at hand.
The Vicinity Search displays specific POIs in the surrounding
vicinity.
You can also search by cuisine-type restaurant listings.

TMC
Traffic Info Receiver:

Our system’s TMC receiver keeps you updated on current traffic events
and suggest alternative routes.
In countries where real-time TMC traffic information is broadcast (see
the list below), the system indicates the traffic events on a map within
a range of 150 kilometres and presents you with an alternative route in
order to avoid the traffic event.
A special menu function lists all the current traffic events in the area
and even sorts them by distance or event.

Compatible with Pioneer's 2010 Visual Audio range, the AVIC-F220 offers full turn-by-turn route guidance and an abundance of POIs with the ability to create custom POIs utilising the AVIC FEEDS PC software.
The AVIC-F220 is an ultra flexible navigation solution compatible with all our 2010 in-car AV headunits.
The unit offers full turn-by-turn route guidance and an abundance of POIs with the ability to create custom POIs utilising the AVIC FEEDS PC software. With its Traffic Message Channel receiver, the system will warn you of impending traffic jams, construction works, and other traffic emergencies.
The AVIC-F220’s compact design allows for versatile installation in small areas and can easily be detached from its in-vehicle base for planning ahead using AVIC FEEDS.
The new AVIC FEEDS Clock and Photo View Applications can unlock functionality in the AVIC-F220. Once downloaded and transferred to the unit via SD card, these applications can be used as alternative screensavers to the map view. They give access to five different clock views and allow slideshows of personal photos complete with transition effects. Additionally, you can add POIs via SD card.
We highly recommend an AVH head unit in combination with the add-on AVIC-F220 for consumers who have not yet invested in a navigation system.
Our 2010 audio visual headunits offer full-featured CD/DVD playback, USB connection for iPod/iPhone control and –for selected models- the convenience of built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling.
