The Panasonic DMCFT4 features such an advanced GPS system, that it is likely to know more about your location than you do! In addition to displaying longitudes and latitudes, this tough camera can also provide area information for 203 countries or regions and landmark information for more than one million locations. The photos and videos will be automatically sorted with their locations in the virtual folder, allowing for easy access and what’s more, the internal clock automatically adjusts to local time so that you never have to set it manually. The Panasonic DMC-FT4 builds on the GPS system even further by incorporating a compass, altimeter and barometer to record the most precise location data. Whether you are in the middle of a desert, high in the mountains, or deep under the sea, your camera will be able to record and display real-time information so those holiday memories never get mixed up again.

Outstanding image quality is assured with a 28mm wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens, featuring a 4.6x Optical Zoom. Intelligent Zoom even extends the 4.6x Optical Zoom to 9.3x equivalent, incorporating our Intelligent Resolution technology to maintain picture quality. In keeping with the camera’s rugged design, a folded optics system has been adopted in order to protect the lens unit from damage. The Panasonic DMC-FT4 can produce picture quality far beyond that of standard rugged compact cameras thanks to a 12.1 megapixel high-speed CCD sensor and the exceptionally advanced signal processing capabilities of the Venus Engine.

Panasonic DMC-FT4 - Full-HD Movie Recording
The Panasonic DMCFT4 can record Full-HD (1920 x 1080) videos in AVCHD / MP4 format. AVCHD offers excellent compatibility with AV equipment like HDTVs or Blu-ray Disc players, while the MP4 format is great for editing and sharing via your PC. The camera features a separate button that lets you instantly start recording video without the need of extra settings and the 4.6x Optical Zoom and iA Mode are available in video recording. You can also be sure that your videos are accompanied by realistic audio due to the high quality Dolby® Digital Creator sound system.

Panasonic DMC-FT4 - Intelligent Auto
When you are shooting on the move, iA (intelligent Auto) mode lets you take brilliant photos and videos without having to stop and change the camera’s settings every time the conditions change. One of the most useful iA functions is POWER O.I.S, an optical image stabiliser that is particularly effective for suppressing handshake blur, even during the low- low-frequency vibration generated when pressing the shutter button or when shooting at night with a slow shutter speed. For more creative freedom, the Panasonic DMCFT4 provides easy-to-use manual controls.
