Our Review & Notes:
It took some time but with the release of the Powershot D20 waterpoof camera from Canon (shipping from June 2012), we can now say there is a true alternative available from Canon in underwater cameras. With all of the technology you would expect from Canon and a rugged design the D20 we are sure will be one of the most sort after waterproof cameras in the market. We believe the main differences come from the new HS System and Digic 4 processor which in simple terms means the camera will perform well in low light situations, important when underwater. Canon is one of only a few brands that offers an optional 40 metre underwater housing to extend to depth this camera can be taken to. So far we see no reason not to recommend to you the Canon D20. At the end of the day it is all about the photo.

Canon D20 - The Second Generation
The Canon PowerShot D20 is second generation in the D-series of Canon waterproof cameras. A compact digital camera built for spectacular underwater photography up to 10m. The sturdy body structure is built to endure a variety of environments, freezeproof to -10° and shockproof to 1.5m giving you the ability to take pictures absolutely everywhere. The PowerShot D20 is perfect for the snow, surf, boat or skate park.

Canon D20 - Waterpoof & Shockproof

The Canon D20 digital camera is equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS)* technology. Canon D20 - The HS System by Canon
The Canon HS SYSTEM lets you take bright, clear photos in an even wider range of shooting situations. Beautiful low-light shots are possible with minimal noise and maximum detail in highlight and shadow areas. The system is the result of two technologies brought together in PowerShot cameras: a high-sensitivity imaging sensor, which is able to capture more light; and the DIGIC Image Processor, which actively reduces noise with high-speed image processing.
